What do I need to get a commercial truck insurance quote?
Your USDOT and MC numbers if you have them, your driver’s license and driving history, details for each truck and trailer (year, make, VIN), the type of freight you haul and where you run, and any current or past insurance. If anything else is needed, we’ll tell you.
How much liability insurance do I need?
For most for-hire carriers hauling general freight across state lines, the federal minimum is $750,000. Many brokers and shippers ask for $1,000,000, and hazmat and some other commodities require more. We match your limits to your authority and your contracts.
I just got my authority. Can I still get insured?
Yes. New authorities can be insured. Options and pricing depend on your experience, your equipment and what you haul, so we shop carriers that write new ventures and walk you through what’s available.
Can you take care of my FMCSA insurance filing?
The insurance filing that keeps your authority active is submitted by the insurance company. We coordinate it with the carrier for you, so your authority isn’t held up waiting on paperwork.
How do I get a certificate of insurance for a broker or shipper?
Once your policy is active, just tell us who needs the certificate. We send it to your broker, shipper or lender on request.
What does a business owner’s policy cover?
A BOP bundles general liability, commercial property and business income into one policy. Some risks need their own coverage, such as commercial vehicles, workers’ compensation and professional liability, and we can add those alongside it.
Do I need workers’ compensation?
Most states require workers’ compensation once you have employees, but the rules differ from state to state. We’ll check what applies to your business and where you operate.
Can I insure my home and my business with you?
Yes. We can quote your home insurance alongside your truck and business coverage, so one team knows your whole picture.
Do you help with health insurance?
Yes. We help individuals, families and self-employed drivers compare health plans in plain language, including doctors, costs and coverage.
Is a quote free?
Yes. Insurance quotes are free and there’s no obligation. Jeema’s DOT and business registration services have their own service fees, which are listed on our homepage.
Which languages do you work in?
